Jamie Roller
I run marketplaces for consumer brands. Currently leading the 9-figure marketplace & digital retail business at Dr. Squatch. I occasionally advise other brands on how to grow theirs.
Based in Cape Town. Originally from the USA. Ex-Kearney.
About me
What I do
I lead marketplace strategy and operations for Dr. Squatch, a men's personal care brand owned by Unilever.
That means owning the full P&L for Amazon US and execution on Digital Retail like Walmart.com and Target.com — growth strategy, advertising, content, operations, and a team split across LA and London.
Before Dr. Squatch, I spent years in strategy consulting at Kearney, then moved into eCommerce startup operating roles where I could actually build the things I was advising on.
That shift — from recommending to owning outcomes — shaped how I work today.
What I'm good at
I sit at the intersection of strategy and execution, which is rarer than it should be, especially for consumer brands playing on Amazon today.
I can build the board-level growth story, but also get into the weeds of an Amazon ad campaign that isn't converting.
I think in systems, and I care a lot about getting the important things right.
Specifically: Amazon and marketplace growth strategy, P&L management, building and leading high-performing teams, and translating complex business problems into plans that actually get executed.
How I think about work
I believe the best work happens when smart people have real ownership, support, clear priorities, and room to figure things out. I hold a high bar on outcomes but I genuinely don't care how you get there.
What matters is the result.
I also write about marketplace strategy, leadership, and what it's like to build a career with intention.

What I'm focused on right now
Last updated: April 2026
- At work: Scaling the Dr. Squatch marketplace business post-Unilever acquisition. Building the systems and team structure to support the next phase of growth.
- On the side: Advising select brands on Amazon and marketplace growth. This is intentionally small right now — a few, occasional engagements with companies I find genuinely interesting.
- Learning: Going deep on AI tools for productivity and decision-making. Building systems in Claude (Cowork and Design are current rabbit holes), Notion, and Lovable in particular.
- Reading: Percival Everett’s entire works. Revisiting some Derek Sivers. Always have a strategy or science book in rotation — currently revisiting some seminal zoology & evolutionary science pieces.
- Life: Expecting my first child in October. Based in Cape Town with my husband Josh. Trying to get outside as much as possible before our rainy, Mediterranean winter fully hits.
